The UK Major Ports Group (UKMPG) represents most of the larger commercial ports in the United Kingdom. It has nine members who, between them, own and operate 41 ports around the UK and account for over 70% of the tonnage handled in UK ports.
UKMPG members will each have their own view on UK membership of the EU and on the referendum to be held by the UK Government on 23 June. However, all members support the need for free trade unencumbered by unnecessary regulation. Whatever the outcome of the referendum, UKMPG will continue to work to ensure that the UK is served by highly efficient and competitive ports that work in the best interests of the country, the environment and all those who rely on them for their livelihoods.
