We are pleased to share the Marine Licensing Top Tips, developed collaboratively through the Ports Sandbox with the Marine Management Organisation and industry partners.

This is a practical, co created resource designed to support applicants through the marine licensing process, bringing together clear advice, shared learning and helpful signposting at each stage. Importantly, this is not a static document. It is intended to evolve over time as we continue to capture insights and improve how the system works in practice.
The Sandbox has shown the value of regulators and industry working in partnership to co create solutions and improve understanding on all sides. This is one of the first tangible outputs from that journey and it is great to see something that we hope will genuinely make a difference for applications now and in the future.
A special thanks to colleagues from the Marine Management Organisation and across industry, including Alex Pepper (UK Major Ports Group), Anne Hayes (Port of Bristol), Tom Coulter (DP World) and Mark Herbert (Associated British Ports), who have generously shared their time, expertise and thoughtful input throughout the process.
We encourage everyone involved in marine licensing across ports, planning, environment and consultancy to take a look and share widely with your networks. The more it is used, the more impact it can have.
