Our CEO, Geraint Evans, was delighted to be asked to chair a webinar last week on ports and future fuels. The event explored the progress with decarbonisation so far and the plans to adopt alternative fuels at ports, with the panel considering the latest developments with shore power and what is needed to support this.
We heard some fascinating presentations from panel, with the Port of Dover speaking about their Green Corridor Short Straits project and sharing thoughts how to bridge the energy gap; Connected Places Catapult discussing the importance of a range of alternative fuels to maintain resilience at our ports; and the University of Manchester highlighting the barrier of Grid capacity to achieving electrification and the role of Government in supporting ports.
It was an excellent session and you can find a recording of the webinar and details of the presentations here: Webinar | UK Ports Conference | Waterfront Conference Company
