The UK Major Ports Group is committed to strengthening international links and supporting the UK’s position as a global hub for trade, investment, and innovation. This means working closely with government partners, global investors, and fellow maritime leaders to unlock shared opportunities across the sector.
Last week included a number of productive engagements in London, helping to deepen relationships with key international stakeholders.
At FT Live, our CEO, Geraint Evans, was pleased to join a discussion with Her Excellency Noor AlKhulaif from the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), alongside Ali Al Mudaifa and Benjamin Parkin, focused on enhancing UK–Bahrain collaboration in port infrastructure, logistics, and investment.

Further discussions took place with Shyam Jagannathan and officials from the Government of India during the Maritime Investment Meeting, reflecting a shared ambition to explore partnerships across shipping, green port development, and supply chain innovation.
We were also delighted to meet with Undersecretary Khamis Al-Shammakhi from the Ministry of Transport, Sultanate of Oman, along with James Stride and Llewellyn Bankes-Hughes, to discuss Oman’s maritime growth strategy and opportunities for UK–Oman collaboration.
These engagements form part of the UK Major Ports Group’s broader mission to support international dialogue and promote the UK’s major ports as strategic assets in global trade networks.

As we prepare for London International Shipping Week 2025, the UK Major Ports Group will continue to champion partnership, investment, and innovation across the maritime sector.
