Strengthening international partnerships and attracting global investment into the UK Major Ports Group remains central to delivering sustainable growth across all four nations of the United Kingdom.
We were pleased to welcome His Excellency Hakim Hajoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the UK, for discussions focused on deepening trade and investment links between our two nations. Our meeting highlighted two significant investments by DP World that are enhancing connectivity between the UK, Europe, and Morocco.
These investments include the Atlas Service and a new service operated by Forth Ports Limited in partnership with Samskip. Together, these initiatives are establishing new and strategic routes linking the UK and Europe with Morocco — positioning Morocco as a vital gateway to Africa and strengthening supply chains for businesses on both sides.

Our discussions also reflected the shared ambition between the UK and Morocco to increase investment in major ports infrastructure and to support customers in embedding these newly operational services into their trading networks. Such collaboration is critical to ensuring long-term economic resilience and growth.
We continue to work closely with Tom Hill and the British Embassy Morocco, and were pleased to collaborate with Ben Coleman, HM Government’s Trade Envoy to North Africa, during a recent visit to London Gateway. These partnerships demonstrate the importance of coordinated public and private sector engagement in unlocking international trade opportunities.
To secure long-term prosperity, we must continue to position the UK as an attractive and competitive destination for investment. Through strong global relationships and sustained collaboration across government and industry, the UK Major Ports Group is committed to delivering growth, connectivity, and opportunity across the country.
