The UK Major Ports Group (UKMPG) held its most recent main board meeting this week at one of our member ports, continuing our tradition of rotating meetings across the UK’s major port network. We were pleased to be hosted at ABP Immingham on the Humber by our Chairman, Henrik Pedersen, and Andrew Dawes of Associated British Ports.

We were also delighted to welcome Michelle Willis, Chief Executive Officer of the Marine Management Organisation, and Gus Jaspert from The Crown Estate, who joined our board to discuss continued and deepening collaboration across government and the ports sector.
The visit included a tour of the impressive ABP Immingham facilities, offering valuable insights into one of the UK’s most critical trade gateways. Discussions during the board meeting focused on key issues shaping the future of the UK’s major ports, including strategic investment, regulatory partnership, decarbonisation, and innovation.
We thank all those who contributed to the productive and forward-looking discussions and look forward to building on this momentum in the months ahead.
